Native to the forests of Malaysia and India. FRUIT: wild texture, green skin that turns brown as it ripens, white edible seeds and sweet flesh. It weighs up to 35 kg. NUTRITIONAL VALUE: rich source of vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, electrolytes, fibers, fats and proteins. It provides energy, but no cholesterol or saturated fat.
TASTE: slight smell of onion, juice with a sticky texture and seeds with a taste between pear and pineapple. It can replace meat because after a few hours of cooking, it tastes like pork! It can be fried or cooked in a pot. CUTTING PROCEDURE: first, we should cut it lengthwise with a sharp knife. Then again cut each piece lengthwise, until it becomes slices like the watermelon. Then we remove the middle piece of the fruit which is white and throw it away. Remove the chestnut-sized seeds and cut the flesh into pieces.
