It blooms in spring and summer and its flowers are white and strongly fragrant. Its fruits are almost spherical, green to yellow-green and about the size of a small lemon. Lime thrives in sunny to partially shaded planting locations. Grows in fertile, neutral to slightly alkaline but not calcareous, moderately moist and well-drained soils. It is a plant sensitive to frost, like all citrus fruits. It needs moderate frequent watering.
